Dr. Laura Knapp
Dr. Laura Knapp, a New Jersey native, has been in the field of optometry for over 15 years having started her career as a vision therapist. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in Biology from Rowan University, Dr. Knapp continued her education at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University, earning a Doctorate of Optometry with Clinical Honors. While completing her clinical training, Dr. Knapp worked closely with Dr. Press while with Family Eyecare Associates.
Dr. Knapp’s passion is to help both children and adults with eye coordination difficulties. Having extensive training allows for her to specialize in the treatment of these patients while simultaneously pursuing a special interest in learning related vision disorders.
Dr. Knapp is a member of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development, the American Optometric Association, and the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians. She and her husband reside in Mahwah with their three dogs (and soon to be first baby!).
Our vision therapy staff and front desk team are integral to our success in practice.
They are individually chosen with an eye toward empathy for patients and upbeat personality. Our vision therapists are guided toward board certification, a process attained through the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD). We hold team meetings with the entire staff every morning prior to beginning work with patients so that we can keep one another up to date about your care. Once weekly the therapy staff and doctors get together in a roundtable session for education, and to review the progress of our patients.
