Comprehensive Eye Care

Comprehensive Eye Exams

At PressVision at Family Eyecare Associates, we offer comprehensive exams that cover all aspects of your vision and eye health. We start with questions regarding your daily life and any symptoms you may be experiencing at home or at work.
We also take record of your vision, medications, and overall health. Then our optometrists perform a visual exam to take a look at your eye and eyelids.
This is done with magnification and light, and may require dilating of the pupils. We also record your eye pressure with tonometry, which is an important test to identify patients at risk of developing glaucoma.
After these tests, we review the results and discuss treatment options or corrective lens choices.

CRT Lenses – Orthokeratology

Here at PressVision at Family Eyecare Associates, we are proud to offer ortho-k for our patients.
Many people prefer to avoid surgery if possible. However, if you are looking to improve your vision as dramatically as surgery would, you may be interested in orthokeratology, commonly known as “ortho-k”.
Ortho-k involves temporarily reshaping the cornea through the use of specialized contact lenses, which are designed to be worn while sleeping. Although these lenses are not very common and most people still prefer laser surgery, this reshaping method is gaining more popularity as the procedure continues to be improved.

Ocular Diseases Treatment and Management

Here at PressVision at Family Eyecare Associates, we are proud to offer ocular allergy treatment. Many people struggle with allergies, which lead to itchy and uncomfortable eyes.
However, long-term allergies can cause problems such as scratches, ulcers, and even vision problems.
Most people treat their allergies with over-the-counter medications. Antihistamines are commonly used to help.
It is also helpful to use eye drops to keep your eyes lubricated, which decreases your chances of harming your eye. Some people find it helpful to flush out their eyes when they have an irritant in them.
However, if over-the-counter medications are not helping or you have pain, redness, or a lot of discharge, you really need to be seen! We sometimes prescribe artificial tears to help. Antihistamines and decongestants can be used together to make a patient much more comfortable. Mast-cell stabilizers are often prescribed because they prevent the body’s allergic response to allergies. For severe reactions, allergy shots may be helpful too!
We are here for you if you have allergies and are struggling with red and itchy eyes. We will go through all of your options until we find what works best for you!

Emergency Care

Here at PressVision at Family Eyecare Associates, we are here for you in the case of an emergency. There are times when you may need immediate care for your eyes.

Any time that you experience trauma to your eyes, you need to be seen. If you get anything in your eye, especially chemicals and foreign objects, you should be seen immediately to limit the potential damage to the eye.

You should also come in immediately if you experience any of the following symptoms:

  • Painful and/or red eyes
  • Inability to open the eyes
  • Swelling
  • Flashing lights (which may induce vomiting)
The sooner that you get treatment for your eyes, the quicker you can have relief and start to feel better. Early detection and treatment of problems can also help prevent serious damage to your eyes or vision.
There is no definition for what is or isn’t an emergency; if you feel that you should be seen for any reason, please give us a call right away. After hours, you should get to the nearest hospital for care or, if necessary, call 911.

Insurance and Payment Plans

No Insurance? / Don't See Your Insurance?

No Problem!

At PressVision, we know how confusing insurance can be for our patients. Our patients appreciate that we go the extra mile when it comes to helping our patients and their families deal with their insurance provider.

Making Insurance Make Sense

We will explain how your deductible works. We’ll also explain what services are fully or partially covered. We’ll also tell you what services are unlikely to be covered. Based on our experience, we’ll even give you our estimate of what you can expect back from your insurance company.

Insurance Submission

We also take care of submitting all required paperwork to your insurance company. We do this every day, and we know the ins and outs of getting insurance claims submitted properly to your insurer.

What to Expect

Insurance providers are always changing coverages for services. While we can’t guarantee that your insurance company will approve or cover all provided services, you can be sure that we will fully explain everything to you and properly submit all required paperwork to your insurer.
